Felipe Esparza

September 29, 2018

Symphony Hall

Felipe Esparza - MGM Springfield presents stand-up comedian and actor Felipe Esparza.  Best known for his stand-up special “They’re Not Gonna Laugh at You” (2012), as well as his recurring roles on “Superstore” and “The Eric Andre Show,” the 2010 winner of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” will entertain audiences with his signature style of comedy and storytelling that speaks to his childhood and family life growing up in the projects of Boyle Heights (East Los Angeles), California.

From living in a family of 9 in the most gang-infested neighborhood in the country to winning NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” to selling out live comedy shows all over the country and acting in TV shows and movies, Felipe Esparza’s story is anything but boring.

Today, Esparza hosts a weekly podcast on the All Things Comedy Network called “What's Up Fool?” that focuses on interesting stories from just about anybody. In addition, he is developing a sitcom with fellow comedian Dustin Ybarra and writers Bobby Bowman and Peter Murrietta, where Esparza and Ybarra play brothers in a single-camera comedy to be produced by 3Arts Entertainment. Last year, he produced his second hour-long stand-up special with his wife Lesa, entitled “Translate This,” which premiered on HBO in September 2017.
